We are writing an Excel 2007 VSTO application.
It was frustrating to find an empty workbook project loads in 5 seconds and takes up 50MB of memory.
With some base data queries at load, it's more like 15 seconds; adding formatting to cells increases the memory consumption nearly exponentially. That really hampers the argument to use Office. It doesn't kill it; but it's no fun to admit.
