Welcome. I’m Jerry Nixon. And, I am glad you are here. I am a Microsoft Developer Evangelist. That means my job is to help developers like you. I’m all about Windows 8 development. And, like you, I am all about cool new tech.

Did you know there’s an army? Yeah, a full-fledged army of Microsoft developers on every continent and in every country and language. No joke, these are developers like you who have dedicated their careers to the most comprehensive and integrated stack of products the world has ever seen.

But wait, you aren't a Microsoft developer? Not everybody is – I get that. But, you might be amazed at how open and accessible the Microsoft platform is to developers who don't know it. The skills you have today translate better than you might ever imagine.

But today it's all about Windows 8! Even tenured Microsoft developers have some learning to do. That’s because Windows 8 introduces some cool, new development paradigms that make the user experience awesome. Once developers get what’s under the covers, the line to their apps is straight.

Non-traditional Microsoft developers can use their existing skills, too. Listen to this: Windows 8 let’s HTML5/JavaScript developers write uncompromising applications, taking advantage of operating system enhancements, device capabilities, and even the Windows Store just like apps written in Microsoft’s CPP and C#.
